Reject SIOA Supporters' Images of Hate

It is of great concern to us regarding the silence on images of hate, contempt, and calls for violence on the American Facebook website for the Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) group.  This group is an anti-Islam activist organization.  While all public groups have the challenge of dealing with extremists within them, there are members of the SIOA that have repeatedly posted images to promote anti-Islam hate and violence.

Yet when the news media interviews the leaders of the SIOA, Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, the news media members never challenge them or ask the SIOA leaders to confront their SIOA supporters who promote such images of hatred. We urge the news media to do so.  Furthermore, we urge the news media to ask such SIOA leaders to reject those SIOA members who promoted images that have also been used in the video of Oslo terrorist Anders Behring Breivik.

To demonstrate this problem, we have provided screenshots from the SIOA Facebook website below showing some of the more "tame" images.  While some of the SIOA screenshot images posted below on this blog are still very disturbing (and they are very disturbing to us as well), we believe it is important for the public to know about this and challenge the leaders of the SIOA group to do something about it.

Most importantly, we want to convey that these images are only the smallest fraction of those on the SIOA public Facebook website.  There are many other images, and ones that are much more vulgar and disgusting, with the most foul images of human feces, urination, and other disgraceful images.  Yet the SIOA leaders continue to get a free pass from the news media on any accountability of the use of the SIOA Facebook website for such foul and disgusting images.

We apologize for the need to share such images, but the Breivik terrorist attack demonstrates that the public needs to know what is going on.  We reject images of hate, violence, contempt and disrespect.

We reject images of hate, violence, contempt and disrespect.

However, all of these images are posted on the SIOA public Facebook website.

Three of these images were part of the terrorist video prepared by confessed Oslo terrorist Anders Behring Breivik.

If we stay silent about this, who else will be inspired by images of hate, contempt, and violence?

If we stay silent about this, who will be the next "Anders Behring Breivik" and what will we say when that next terrorist strikes?

The SIOA leaders are aware of their Facebook photo album, and they use it to post photos themselves.

Why haven't they stopped the images of hatred on their Facebook web page?
